Good morning Centennial families,
Centennial P.S. is practically bursting with holiday spirit! Here’s an update of goings-on this week and next:
On Tuesday, our Strings Orchestra and Chamber Players presented an entertaining and informative concert at Abraham Erb P.S. Students took the lead with the young audience, weaving information about the elements of music into the repertoire.
Tonight, SJAM Music presents a festive musical concert, Harmonies in Winter, featuring our own Centennial Grade 8 Band! The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at SJAM.
Our own Centennial Holiday Concert is coming up next Wednesday, December 17th at 7;00 p.m. See details in a previous post.
Our guidance contacts Mrs. Piva and Mrs Spoltore are making high school info visits in all grade 8 classes this week and next. Students receive information on next steps in the Grade 8 to 9 transition, and course selection information for their home secondary schools.
Volleyball season has ended, and boys and girls basketball tryouts are been underway this week. Thanks to all the athletes and coaches for their time and dedication!
Our window painting team has decorated our interior windows with beautiful winter and holiday scenes. Thanks to these talented artists!
Athletic Council’s Food Drive continues until December 16th, when class reps will attempt to construct a prize-winning tower with student contributions. All students and families are encouraged to contribute.
Spirit Council is selling Candy Grams each morning this week for 25 cents. All proceeds will go to our community for Christmas.
We will also be having a Tacky Christmas Sweater Day on Thursday, December 18th. Students are encouraged to wear the tackiest sweater they can find!
Stay safe in the snow and enjoy the rest of the week!
-Mrs. Adams and Mr. Hughes
