The Westvale-Waterloo Optimist Club is again providing students with opportunities to promote themselves and win valuable scholarships though their annual Essay and Oratorical Contests.
The topic for this year’s Essay Contest is “Optimism Should Be A Priority”. Essays are due on the February 12th, 2015. Students are invited to submit an essay 700-800 words long in a format that conforms to guidelines in the contest rules.
The Oratorical Contest topic is “How My Optimism Will Help Me Press On to Greater Achievements in the Future”. The Oratorical Contest will be hosted by the Club on February 25th, 2015. Selected participants speak for 4-5 minutes following the guidelines set out in the contest rules.
Winning essays and speeches can go on to compete for up to $2500 in scholarships.
Please see the attachments below for further information. For interested students and families, signed applications for both contests must be submitted to the school office by January 30, 2015.
