Did you know that our brains are wired to pay attention to negative thoughts and discount positive thoughts?
The newest edition of Caring/Coping/Connecting focuses on how to tame your inner critic, and focus purposefully on the positive. Once you understand the negativity bias, and start paying attention to the thoughts, you can change them into more positive thoughts. Want to learn how to do this? Check out the helpful resources in our newsletter.
Learn more about our self-care tip of the month from the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, centred on the goal of exploring the good, which anyone can try. It is a challenge to take some of our negative emotions or thoughts and reframe them into something else, that might just help us feel better and even do better.
Don’t forget about upcoming community events, and the Lunch and Learn sessions hosted by the WRDSB Psychology Department on Wednesdays from 12:15 to 12:45 pm. Upcoming sessions focus on Co-Regulation and the Anxiety Tool Box, as well as the Impact of COVID-19 on Mental Wellbeing.
