It is with very heavy hearts that the Centennial-Waterloo Community mourns the passing of Miss Nicole Morgan on November 12, 2021, after a very brief, intense battle with cancer. Miss Morgan was part of the Centennial-Waterloo Staff family last year, working as an Educational Assistant.

Students will remember Miss Morgan’s infectious laugh, her warm, caring personality, and her deep concern and kindness toward them as they learned alongside her on a daily basis during her time here at Centennial-Waterloo. Miss Morgan was an extremely active and dynamic person whose impact was deeply meaningful, whether she was interacting with students in sports, small group supports, or through individual conversations. Miss Morgan was the epitome of an inclusive, thoughtful Educator to whom students and staff automatically gravitated. She will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with Nicole’s family in this time of grief:  Mom and Dad, Rowena & Fred, sister Roxanne, older brother Leon, and Nicole’s twin brother Frederick.

Along with the Centennial-Waterloo Staff Team, members of the Board’s Critical Events Response Team have been consulted and stand by ready to support any person in need of assistance.

In honour of Miss Morgan, the flags at both Centennial-Waterloo and the Waterloo Region District School Board’s Main Offices will be flown at half mast this week.

Please check in with your child in the days to come. If you have any concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to contact me via email.

With kind regards,

Steve Sherlock ~ Principal @ Centennial -Waterloo
