As we prepare for the winter break let us take a moment to reflect on the learning, growth and achievement we have experienced together this school year. It’s hard to believe that just a few months ago, students and staff were settling into routines as classrooms welcomed students buzzing with curiosity and excitement.

From Kindergarten to Grade 12, students are learning skills and engaging in experiences that will support their academic success, well-being and future pathways. Whether they are learning to read and write, or harness the power of mathematics, we are very proud of all that we have accomplished in support of students. Guided by the WRDSB Math Achievement Action Plan and the WRDSB Structured Literacy Multi-Year Plan, our efforts are having a positive impact on students as demonstrated by our most recent Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) results.

When students return to school in 2026, dedicated staff across the WRDSB will continue to be there to fuel their passion for learning. Together with parents, families and caregivers, we will continue to support students as they achieve academic success. We will also work together to create an environment where everyone feels they belong.

We hope that this well-deserved break provides you with the opportunity to rest, relax and recharge as you connect with those who matter most to you. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa and welcome to the Winter Solstice. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

We send warm wishes for a wonderful holiday season,
