The library at this time looks different than in the past. We are currently in Phase 2 of the Library Re-Opening. Students are able to access our online Library Learning Commons (LLC) to reserve books which will then be delivered to their classrooms. Books are then returned to their classrooms and once picked up will be placed into a 7 day quarantine.
To make sure that the Library Learning Commons can support the students library needs, it recently went through an update. The new url for our LLC can be found at wrdsb.insigniails.com/library
Students will login using their WRDSB email address (previously their PAL). From there they will be able to search books that are in our library and click Reserve.
From this website students are also able to login to “Overdrive” our online ebook Library. To login to “Overdrive” students will need to use their PAL. This is the same login that they use for their ChromeBooks.
Some items to note, when searching the LLC to ensure that the book is in our Library, Centennial must be selected in the upper left corner. Students are then able to scroll through the sidebar on the left hand side to select the book format (Fiction, Non Fiction, Graphic Novel, French) and the availability to narrow their search to what we have in our Library.
While the library process may be different then usual, I am very excited to be able to continue to get books into the hands of students!
